New Mexico Lifeline: how it stacks with federal Lifeline (2026)
New Mexico adds a small state-level supplement on top of the federal $9.25/mo Lifeline discount. The state portion varies by provider and program funding; the combined maximum is roughly $12.75/mo.
How the two programs stack
Federal Lifeline is a nationwide FCC program giving $9.25/month off phone or internet service. It's administered by USAC.
New Mexico Lifeline is a New Mexico-only supplement run by New Mexico Public Regulation Commission. It stacks on top of the federal benefit — you get both.
The good news: you don't apply to both separately. When you enroll with a participating Lifeline provider in New Mexico, one application handles everything. The provider coordinates enrollment in both programs.
