SNAP (EBT) automatically qualifies you for the federal Lifeline program. While the ACP-era free-tablet giveaways have ended, SNAP recipients can still get tablets through Lifeline providers like Cintex Wireless and through nonprofits like PCs for People.

SNAP qualifies you for Lifeline — and Lifeline can include a tablet
Participation in SNAP (your EBT card) qualifies you for the federal Lifeline program. Lifeline itself provides a $9.25/month service discount, which you can apply toward phone service, home internet, or, with some providers, tablet-included mobile data plans. Cintex Wireless (on T-Mobile's network) has included tablets with some Lifeline plans for SNAP-qualified applicants.
How to prove SNAP enrollment
Most providers accept a photo of your EBT card (both sides) as proof. Some require a recent SNAP benefit statement or an approval letter from your state SNAP agency. In many states the National Verifier can confirm SNAP enrollment automatically through a state database — no upload needed.
Nonprofit tablet programs for SNAP recipients
PCs for People explicitly accepts SNAP as proof of income eligibility for their tablet distribution program. Human-I-T accepts EBT proof similarly. Tablets from these nonprofits are refurbished but tested and typically cost $0-50.
