T-Mobile Home Internet Lifeline: low-income home internet explained.
T-Mobile does not run a branded low-income internet program like AT&T Access or Xfinity Internet Essentials. Instead, they accept the federal Lifeline discount on their 5G Home Internet service — bringing the effective cost from $50/month (standard) to about $40/month for qualifying households.
Lifeline is free
You will never pay for the benefit itself. The government pays it directly to your chosen phone provider.

T-Mobile's approach is different
T-Mobile doesn't run a dedicated low-income internet brand. Instead, they accept the federal Lifeline subsidy on their standard 5G Home Internet product. If you qualify for Lifeline, the $9.25/month benefit reduces T-Mobile 5G Home Internet's $50/month price to about $40/month net.
This makes sense if
You're already on T-Mobile for phone service and want to simplify billing, you live in a rural area where T-Mobile 5G Home is the only non-cable option, or cable competitors (Xfinity, Spectrum) aren't available at your address. Otherwise, Xfinity Internet Essentials at $9.95/month is usually the better value.
How to apply Lifeline
Apply for Lifeline through USAC's National Verifier first. Once approved, contact T-Mobile customer service (or sign up online with a Lifeline-eligible profile) and transfer the Lifeline benefit to your T-Mobile 5G Home account.
