You can qualify for Minnesota Lifeline if you or another person in your household is enrolled in any one of these qualifying public assistance programs:

• Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as Food Stamps

• Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA) (including Section 8 Vouchers)
• Veterans Pension or Survivors Benefit

Minnesota offers the Telephone Assistance Plan (TAP), which provides an additional $10 monthly discount on landline voice service. If you receive Lifeline from a landline provider and purchase voice service, you'll automatically be enrolled in TAP without needing to complete a separate application.
